Rediscovering yourself

My Journey of Healing and Empowerment

When I started this practice, I knew from the beginning that I wanted to present my authentic self. No professional photos, web designers, or writers—just a genuine look at who you will really be working with.

My story begins growing up in a broken home with a dedicated single mother and an absent father, I faced a pivotal moment at fifteen during my second visit with him. He told me that if he had to choose between me and his family—his third wife and her two children—he would always choose them. That moment led me to wrongly believe I didn’t deserve love or happiness.

Caught in a false sense of identity, I found myself trapped in an abusive marriage for seven years. Despite the turmoil, a glimmer of hope appeared with the birth of my son during that period. However, this joy did not stop the abuse.  When I finally left, I entered another relationship that was even more abusive. After enduring a total of fourteen years of hidden abuse, I took my son and left for good. Reflecting now on how I survived and escaped, I realize that God had a higher plan for my life.

I eventually met my husband Jay, and we’ve been happily married for nearly twenty years. My son has witnessed a healthy marriage and finally experienced a genuine father figure. Through years of therapy and the support of my family, I have healed and discovered my true self. Today, I embrace a life filled with love, stability, and purpose, and I am committed to helping others find their path to healing and fulfillment.

Meet Princess, the dog who truly lives up to her name.
Although she may be small, the joy and comfort she has provided during tough times on my healing journey make her a significant part of our family’s life.

A Survivor of Abuse with a Passion for Helping: Overcoming and Empowering Others

Carrying the weight of abuse

The effects of abuse can be compared to carrying the weight of a massive boulder. Just as the boulder exerts immense pressure and makes every step a struggle, the trauma from abuse can feel like a heavy burden, overwhelming and exhausting.

Abuse and the Invisible Weight of a Boulder

There was a time when I felt like I was bearing the weight of the boulder in this picture, weighed down by shame, guilt, and fear. Yet, just as the boulder doesn’t need my support, it was never my responsibility to carry the burdens of shame, guilt, and fear that belonged to the abusers.

Having overcome those challenges, I now dedicate myself to empowering others on their healing journeys. I understand that even after working through the past in therapy, there may still be things holding you back from living the life you deserve.

With firsthand experience of various types of abuse and their damaging effects, I will come alongside you to help you discover your own inner voice of truth and light, unique to your journey. As a peer and fellow survivor, we will learn and grow together throughout this process.

Let's begin the journey of coming out of the darkness of your trauma into the light of new beginnings.

You matter to God and you matter to me.
